Strength

  1. We have committed and well trained staff,
  2. the unit is within the centre of the municipality with all the amenities and utilities accessible
  3. There is always government support (PAF and human resource), Health policies and guidelines in place.
  4. 4.The unit is expanding maintaining minimum services according to norms. We are developing partnership with; The local government/MOH Implementing partners inside and outside the country

Opportunities:  The political support from government (MOUs with political members on the Board),  development partners support ( both international, national and local NGOs), Availability of well-trained human resources, Availability of well-stocked pharmacies and trading shops, the road network system is good with an informed community.

Threats: unpredictable financial releases, mobility of human resources, failure for clients to meet cost-sharing charges, high charges of utilities (Water and Electricity), and rapid increase in the population mostly in the slum areas.Effect of the health unit being near the roadside and the fact that it is a murram road in a hot season we experience a lot of dust and soil erosion is highest in the rainy seasons.

Weaknesses:  lack of staff accommodation, transport means ( staff van and a delivery vehicle for the unit supplies), equipment (theatre and laboratory), physical plan.

FUTURE PLANS FOR THE HEALTH UNIT

  • We plan to be a hospital very soon.
  • Renovate surgical ward.
  • Need for a standard Theatre.
  • Grading of the passages to different wards of the health unit
  • Having a water reserve for the facility
  • Procurement of more beds for the unit and future to facilitate patients
