The unit is located in urban areas of Kasese where trading, industrialization, Farming, Poultry keeping and zero-grazing is practiced
Situational analysis for the facility
Being in the urban area of Kasese and surrounded by the communities that did not have health services, the Diocese of south Rwenzori with support from the Norwegian Government; an integrated rural development program was stated in 1989 to bridge the gap that existed.
The Diocese planed the health centers in the rural communities to be supervised by st Pauls health centre IV which works as a referral for rural Units.

Challenges
St Paul hospital-kasese has continued to face challenges that are both rural and urban
Urban challenges include: Slum places, road, industrial and home accidents, water and air pollution, poor management of waste, change in life for the community like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption. All these factors listed predisposed the community to both communicable and non communicable diseases to the community
Rural challenges include: The poor health seeking behavior, water, sanitation, transport network and nutritional habits, coupled with low income generating activities in the rural communities have lead to delays of clients in the communities
Strength: We have committed and well-trained staff, the unit is within the centre of the municipality with all the amenities and utilities accessible, there is always government support (PAF and human resource), health policies and guidelines in place
